i am looking for a good emerger hex pattern for the ausable any one able to help

Dear J,

You might try using an olive Usual, in size 18. This is a snowshoe rabbit based fly that sits low in the film. It's a great all-around pattern and fish will often take it when they're ignoring patterns that more closely match the hatch.

They sell this pattern at Gate's AuSable Lodge, as well as other on-line locations.

It's very effective, and very underrated.

The Usual is a great emerger pattern, but not designed to match the HEX!

for all other emergers, go to Dennis Potter's website and try the Rivergod emerger. Great for Hendricksons, sulphers, iso, brown drakes, cahills, etc.
