It was I-500 weekend up here, and I had a snowball's chance in hell of getting the days off in our annual leave book.

..... and BTW: 200 miles would have put me in Grayling, with 200+ more miles to go.

Better to do that drive in the summer.

Hope first appeared in Nov. 2000, shot a big buck, posting prolifically and then disappeared. With all of the attention she was getting maybe her husband put her over his knee. Yeah Daddy!! :D Just kidding. ;)

Actually, I think she went ice fishing. I found the following post she made awhile back and pasted it here. Maybe she'll be back in the spring.

I made that drive back in Dec. '93. Flew into Detroit from Florida, drove to my buddy's place in Lewiston to go snowmobiling for the weekend. The contingency plan was to drive to Hurley, WI if the conditions weren't good in Lewiston. They weren't so we did. Then of course we had to drive back. Whew! 3000 miles in the air, 950 miles in a truck and 200 miles on the sled. Can anyone beat that?
