Here are a couple carp my dad and I took this morning. We got two plus one dogfish in about 20 minutes. There aren't to many in there but they do have some good ones. We figured the big one was about 20lbs.

Man those are some good lookin carp!! those are pushin 20lbs for sure! What lake is this?? have you been on it at night yet?? with carp like that id be interested to see what i can produce..

It was Higgins Lake which is not known at all for bowfishing. Untill a couple years ago I didn't even know carp were in there. We only occasionally see them if at all. It is a very clear lake and is incredibly hard to sneak up on them once you do find one. We have not been out at night. But if your looking for a good lake up this way in roscommon county I would check out Houghton Lake. Fished there a couple times with another guy that has a boat and we say a good amount carp.

Typically if you head out at night it will take most of the skiddishness out of the fish, ive got some great lights that would penetrate that clear water well. what county is that Higgins lake in? If i ever get up that way ill check out that houghton lake too!

its in roscommon county. It is about 2 hours north of Flint. Houghton Lake is about 15 minutes south of Higgins. Let me know if you make it up. I would love to see whats out there at night!
