very simple answer to this.... get better swivels preferrably the ball bearing ones

I tie my harnesses with a swivel on them, instead of a loop.

Don't cheap out on swivels!

Well I had cheaper swivels on before, and I replaced them all with ball bearing ones. It did not seem to work out as well as I planned, because my line is still twisting up, and it seems to be getting worse.

Thanks

Good ball bearing swivels cost almost a buck each. Once your line gets twisted that bad replace and start over. You may want to use heavier line if your making your own harnesses.
I use 12lb vanish and quality ball bearing swivels, line twist is never an issue. 12lb XT on the reels.
Good luck

How fast are you trolling?? A good ball bearing swivel should take care of the problem!! One thing also make sure your crawler is straight when you hook it on!!

how are you hooking your crawlers? if you dont thread the first hook real close to center of the nose it will really make your harness spin.

4 tips

1) Use a stiff flourocarbon line to tie your harnesses-I use 15-20 lb.
2) Hook your worm as was said above
3) Use excellent ball bearing swivels
4) Large, deep cup blades (like a #5 Colorado) will tend to twist more if run fast-use a willow leaf.

Yup, use bearing swivels and hook the crawler right through the nose....problem solved.

U can still salvage ur line.....just cut everything off and troll about 90% of it behind the boat for about 20 minutes.... That will take the twist out.

Run bottom bouncers and your mainline won't twist.:)
