Great job Mr Bomber, sense the fishing been so good no need for dynamite:lol: I just wonder where the go when the soft water turns hard. Next time I go out I think I'm going to see if I can run my MarCum camera down just to see how many fish are really their. Maybe do a drift and see what we can see and pick-up jigging crawlers. Getting layed off for the first 2 weeks in July will have a little time to play.

Theyre still there in the winter, theyre just a bit more fickle thats all.;) Not to mention your fishing through a 10" hole on 1143 square miles of water..makes things a bit more difficult compared to pulling a spread 150' wide with baits straining multple depths, not to mention constantly being on the move...and they wanna eat right now.
Ive always wanted to jig them out there, but it seems like we get caught up in the trolling gig and cant shake it. Would love to try it sometime...I think a jigging spoon would be killer. Something like a cleo with high action and flash. I bet theyd smack the daylights outta that. Even a big buckshot spoon or larger plastic shad imitating swim bait.

Will I'm grounded till next weekend again (work) So be safe out their. I would like to try larger plastic shad imitating swim baits also as seen on the Infisherman Show. But then I would have to start a nother tackle box oh boy!!:nono: I wonder if they would even work in a 40ft water depth? Anyway Good luck this week, Weather looks great, keep a eye on Thu. weather.

A couple of weeks ago a buddy of mine broke down out near the Spark Plug. He threw the anchor and called a friend for a tow. During the two hours they were anchored they jigged with the trolling rigs. Inline one ounce weights with a crawler harness hanging just off of bottom. Ended up getting their fish like that with a few bonus jumbo perch mixed in.

I was thinking of trying to take a smaller hook thread it in the nose back to the shank pop it out then stick it back in around that band they have like you would do with a weedless set-up, I like to use that set-up when drifting down the Sag & Tip rivers. And just bounce it up and down on the bottom as you float along. A few split shots to get it down. I got a few fish today in the middle of putting the inline planers boards on they would just bite and hold on no big hard hit, like a hit in mid winter i could just feel the weight of the fish. Thanks JR for the info on your buddys set up.

we were stopping on those pods of fish last year and jigging them with a jig head and a crawler, what a blast catching them on spinning gear. i haven't been able to fish nearly as much so far this season, but i was thinking the same thing about the swim baits last year. i'll probably have some time off here soon ( unfortunally, no work) so we'll be giving it a try.

I am from Muskegon and this was my first time on the bay. I have got to say WOW, what a blast. We have lots of walleye in Muskegon, but nothing like the Bay. For fathers day we booked a trip with a charter out of the Sabewaing area, the boat was called Plan B. We got out a little late because we got lost. We still got our limit in about 3 and a half hours. Plus two bonus cat fish. Captain Chris and First Mate Mike did an fantastic job, we are already planing our next trip.
