The ice hasn't been the best in that area. I would suggest you check with Mill Creek Sports in Dexter but they told me last weekend that ice was great at Gosling Lake and guys were killing the crappie out there. When we got there the ice was only 3" and no tracks in the snow past the boat launch.

I've heard there has been some fishing on Whitmore Lake. That would probably be your best bet right now for safe ice. Or go a little northwest to Howell to Lake Chemung. There are threads saying the fishing has been good there.

If another cold spell comes try Four Mile lake for pike and gills. Silver and Crooked lakes are good also. Monster pike can be caught on Patterson Lake but the ice is touchy there all winter. Half Moon can be good for panfish too but they lock the gate to the park so you have to walk a long way to get to the ice.

That should get you started. There's also Ford and Belleville Lakes but I doubt the ice is safe there either.

Ford had 3" as of Sat pm with some slush-wouldn't try it now. was partly open at the launch 8-10 days ago. Bite was very slow, few perch. Whitmore had 3-5" with lots of people and very few fish, (few pike) as of sat am.Belleville lake is very touchy and you need to be extremely careful. No safe ice on Belleville lk that I know of currently.
