I fished Hardy Pond friday with my 3 and 5 year old for a few hours and we managed to catch 15 perch and 1 walleye. The perch ranged anywhere from 8" to 11" and the walleye was 17". We caught all of the fish with minnows on the bottom. There was about 6-7" of ice out there. I think we are going to give it another try saturday morning. We are fishing on the north end of Hardy, the water down by the damn is still open.

Good Fishing
Tim

Tim, were you up by bucks and how deep? The walk at brower is murder on the bad knee. My buddy may be up there this morning. Thanks;)

I was fishing the long straight stretch of the river between Bucks and Brower. I caught all of the fish in 32 FOW using minnows.
I fished it again sat. morning and only caught 1 perch and 3 undersized walleye, it was really slow.
The area I fish isn't a very far walk at all, but you have to go down a steep hill to get to the river.

Good Fishing

Thanks Tim. My buddy is at Lake Caddy/Mitch as I'm typing. I called him and he says it's slow and only and few gills and one perch.

We fished Hardy again this afternoon from 2-6 pm. We didn't do any good on the perch at all so we moved in close to the drop off about 4:30 until dark. We had about a 20 min. active period where the walleye moved in and were feeding we caught one legal one and a few 13-141/2 inchers. We lost a couple of nicer fish in the holes also. We took all of our hits on #5 jigging rapala's in blk/silver or perch color patterns.

Good Fishiing

Yes it is all open water down by the dam. The only ice on Hardy is above Big Bend park. I have been fishing above Brower park and there is 6 inches of ice up there.
Croton is all open water on the big side of the pond and the small side has about 6 inches of ice also. I seen a lot of guys fishing the small side of croton sunday, but have no reports. The only thing I heard was from the bait shop in croton, he said that they were catching a lot of perch out there.

Good Fishing

We hit Hardy tonight for a chance at one more walleyein 2002. We managed to catch 6 walleye but only one legal one in the bunch. We caught all of the fish on either perch or blk/silver #5 jigging rapalas. All of the action came the last 45 minutes of daylight. Hopefully tomorrow I can start on my walleye log for 2003.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!!
May 2003 be a great fish catching year to all..

Good Fishing
