Houghton/Higgins/Cadillac Ice conditions??

How is the ice on Houghton and Higgins Lake? Fishable? How about Cadillac?

There was a good 8" of ice on Missaukee(Lake City) last monday. We only have about 11/2"- 2" of snow on the ground up here, so I'm fairly certain there's plenty of ice on Cadillac to. It's been cold enough to make more all week.

Houghton should have good ice. Higgins might be a different story though being alot deeper than the others. They don't have much snow in that area either so conditions have been good for making ice.

i have more ice in my freezer than whats on higgins, should be a couple of weeks weather permitting. houghton has up to 11" and no snow in either spot but we are expecting snow sat and more on monday? b.b.

Hey steely,
I was up near houghton this week and checked out the ice. Snowmobiles were ripping around the lake so I assume the lake had safe ice conditions. Hope this helps.

I was on Houghton this morning, Ice was about 11" and solid. A few stress creacks that have refrozen, (one about 1/4 mile out from south DNR launch) but nothing that will slow anyone down. Snowmobiles and ATV's were everywhere.
