Brooks Lake

I fished under the power lines at Brooks Lake near Newaygo this morning for an hour and a half. Very slow. I caught four fish, but only one was a decent bluegill. One other guy said he had gotten 18 fish, but it took him 8 1/2 hours to do so.

Maybe there IS something to that Solunar table jazz after all.:confused:

Brooks has been hit or miss this year for me. I limited out the first two times there and haven't been able to get more than a couple the past few. They seem to bite decent right at first light but seem to turn off after about 9. Hess has been a much better alternative lately. Most guys are catching enough specks to make a meal. I'm just hoping for more ice so I can hit the lakes I usually fish.

How much ice was on Brooks???

A little over 5" yesterday. Fishing was really slow. Only a few keepers. Dad had fun with his new Vexilar though.:)
