I went fishing at a small pond a couple days ago and when I got there I saw the largest bug hatch I've ever seen. The problem is I couldn't identify them. They were relatively small, white, moth-like. I didn't stop to examine them, though, because I was having too much fun catching bass on topwater. I know my description is vague, but does anyone have a guess at what they were? Whatever they were they sure got the bass to be surface-oriented.

If they flutter around a lot, it might be a type of caddis. There a a whole bunch of different caddis flies. They hold their wings over their back in a tent-like shape when not flying around.

They come in every color from light tan to black. and many sizes.
