I have one of those Tikka LED headlights. I use it getting in the stand in the dark early mornings and for tracking. It's light weight and does not take up much room in a pack. Operates on AAA batteries. Does not eat power fast at all. Fits easily on a baseball cap.

Down side is they are not a massive spotlight for long distance lighting. I bought it for the above reasons.

I got the Tikka Zippa light for Christmas. It has the retractable head band. My buddy had one last while we were fishing for night time browns. I seen it and had to have one!!! I think they go for around $30. You can also get colored(red and yellow) lenses for them also. They are super light weight and super bright. Get one!!!!

Depends on what your using it for...I have the Tikka and it's great for stealthily getting to and from stand. More of a luminous glow than a beam. I also have one my wife got me from Meijer's for $12 that shoots a tight beam for nearly a half a mile. It's a little more bulky, and I haven't used it a full season yet, but I 've used it numerous times this year and haven't had to change batteries yet. I'll find out the name if you want it.

I'm w/ Ann as well. I have the Tikka Petzl, very lightweight, long battery life and enough light to walk by. When the ground is snow covered it's like having airplane landing lights attached to your forehead. W/O snow it's adequate and angled so you don't have to walk w/ your head down.

I have the Petzl Zoom with the Halogen bulb. VERY bright and adjustable. The best part is you still have two free hands. It makes walking in the woods much easier.

I have the Petzl Duo head lamp and it is outstanding since it has a standard bulb and also a Halogen bulb, waterproof also. The 2 different bulbs are great. You can use the standard while rummaging around you pack or flip the switch to the Halogen bulb to light up a large area. Definetly a must have.

are u looking for a head lamp or head light......night light makes a 6 volt head light that has a high side and a low side (bright and dim) u can turn it down low to sneek into the stand or u can turn it on high and shine feilds almost like u had ur spot light from the truck on your head....its kinds of heavy....6 volt last a long time...rechargable....kind of heavey...run u 50.00 +or u can go with any other sort of lite like this think they go as hight as 20 volts...and only weight a pound or two.....and u have the option for some of the to add a hand held spot light to it.....or some of them have a light mounted on the battarie....called a walking light...its nice for just walken...not to bright not to dim...dont even bother with the battarie.....and these range from 59.00 to 500.00 dollors....or i recomend the enegizer head lamp from home depo....for 5.00 it work for all arround email me if ur intrested and i can get u incontact with someone about purching the light.....ridgerunner@torchlake.com

Sorry did not read the other post. But I found a light by rayovac that has three beams with led. A blue for low glare, infra red for crawler hunting and a regular spot lamp. I like it. http://www.rayovac.com/products/flashlights/outdoor_pldown2.shtml
