There's a launch practically at the bottom of the hill. Fisherman's Paradise, a public DNR launch, free. Coming down towards Bellaire from the resort on Shanty Creek Road, make a left, go not more than a mile or so, there's a sign, turn right, follow the road down to the lake, then turn left into the parking area.

The launch is not dredged often and won't accomodate more than a 20 footer without another boat hauling you over the sand bar.

But that is the best launch on the lake.

Walleyes, particularly at night in the summer, I mean 2 a.m. Hot n- Tots, leeches, minnows, trolling and lots of patience.

Also some nice smallmouth bass, a few lake trout and a few splake, rarely caught.

Beautiful lake. Lots of others in the area, too.

Heavy on the patience is right. It is not lake st clair or the saginaw bay. I have fished the lake a few times and did not do very good at all. It takes a while to learn the lake. Not saying the fish aren't there but you better be prepared to put some time in.

Some nice northerns and their cousins in that lake too. I like to fish around the Intermediate River mouth.

Best lake in the area hands down for quality fish. Was there thismornin and hammered the smallies. Mostly tossed my faves. Big flashy spinnerbaits and chrome/blue lipless cranks. The launch outa fisherman's paradise was either dredged out a little by the DNR or someone used a boat to make a nice wide path out to the drop off. Concentratin around the intermideat river inflow all the way back up the north arm always produces the best . Ill drift dropshots tipped with leaches aroudn the main lake point to the left of the intermideate river in the narrow section to pick up huge perch and eyes.

Hope it helps. If ya see a silver/gray Champ. Pull up and say hi. Ill be there this weekend.
