Ram-Mount or Folbe:
I am looking at possibly picking up a couple of side (bulkhead) mount rod holders. I have some questions and concerns. The target species for these would be Walleye trolling harnesses or crank baits using level wind reels. The body of water is Lake St. Clair.

1. Which brand do you think is better?
2. Could these rod holders hold up to the incidental strike of a Musky?
3. Everything is plastic on these. Should that be a concern?

Money is a little tight and I am looking at something a little more inexpensive to get me through until I install more rod holder solutions. I just don't want to suffer from any get what you paid for problems.

Thanks.

Here's the cheapest place that I've found to buy the Ram holders
It's 72 bucks for (4) holders with the bulkhead mounts

If your mounting them on a rail your need the rail mount adapter

Thanks for the replies guys. Looks like the 4 pack is the best value. I don't have a rail on my boat, but I am considering some custom SS rail for the future. That does not help for this season and it looks like the bulkhead would be the easiest installation on my boat.
