The new state record elk that was harvested this year by the thirteen year old girl was taken on a tribal liscense and taken out of the normal "elk zone". Curious to know if they cut up the antlers to use as tools or knife handles? If you ask me, if the tribes want special seasons and quotas, then they should have to utilize all of the animals parts, just like their ancestors did.

im sure it will be used just like any other record elk...on a wall. Congrats to the girl. The bull was a stud.

Its no longer the record. A bigger one was killed in the late season.

Pretty sure that girl was featured in the current Michigan Outdoor News. Wonder why they would feature her but not the Elk that beat her?
The tribal permit doesn't bother me. If a kid broke a record during the youth hunt, I'd pat him on the back and say "good job." I don't see this as much different.

your thinking of the same elk. She killed the biggest one, by far this year. It was killed in the extended season.

A little jealous?
IMO they can have all the special season's they want. It's the least we can do for stealing their land.
Congrats to her and let them do whatever they please with it.

before we took it, the native americans were "stealing" it from each other by force of arms. the history of the world is one group of people taking the land from another group.
if you really feel strongly about it, however, you could deed your property to a tribe and return to europe.
