dacron backing that comes with leadcore?

My grandfather bought some pre-rigged spools of core. They came already with a mono leader and a sort of dacron backing.. I was wondering if anyone had any problems with it set up like that? It's 5-color and I figure I'm going to have to run all 5 colors out on the bay for walleye fishing, (10 yards/1 color approx. = 4ft down, correct?) so the backing is going to get some use out of it. I've got some 20lb fireline I could spool on there but I'd like to keep from having to re-line it if I can..

Its pretty much just personal preference. I use 30# fireline for my backer basically just because it is thinner and you can put more on and I use the bright chartreuse looking color so I can see it better. But if I had the pre rigged stuff already I wouldnt take the dacron off. Hope this helps.
