Great article Sarge!!! Very well written and funny too! You really have a way with words. Thanks again for coordinating the event, my son and I had a terrific time. Have you read trout’s post about a pheasant hunt? Might just be the place to test that new found shooting skill.

bowdad, thanks for the cudos. Yes I would like very much to go on a hunt with Trout and the rest of the crew, but time is short for me this year and Ruth wants some of it. We were married over 12 years before I hunted the first time. (since teen years that is) We got very accustomed to doing everything together, and hunting just hasn't grabbed her attention that well yet. If ever it does and I can get her to come along, I'll have more time in the field. Another possibliity would be for her to suddenly understand about hunting and its draw for those who love it. For now she is still sort of jealous of time I spend away. There are things I don't want to have to discuss, like whether I have time to hunt deer during firearm season, so I don't push during other times of the year. It'll come, I'm patient, (in a pigs eye) I am willing to compromise some times to get total freedom other times. Workin on it though.
