Probably not the same Wolverine, but we were there today and got a bunch of panfish, 4 small bass and a bullhead.

I went there for a brief outing just after the opener in late April. Caught a nice LM bass and small pike, both on a 7.5 inch swimbait fished very slowly. Didn't figure out the pattern, but I could tell the lake has a lot of fish in it.

I'm planning on hitting that lake this year. Can anyone tell me how the parking is there?

You can park at the public launch off Glengary. It's the same road as the village offices are on, just drive past the police station and DPW. Usually room if ya get there early.

Yeah, it doesn't have a great deal of parking, so you could be outta luck if you get there too late (or before some have finished in the afternoon) on a weekday. Should be no problem on weekdays.
Also has the nastiest lavatory I have ever seen, bar none. Makes the lavatory in and any punk rock club I've ever been in look positively luxurious. One would think they would at least have the bloody thing on a raised slab to allow drainage.

I have only ice fished that lake once and tried it from the boat once as well(didn't do much), but was interested in targeting some pan fish out there. Any size to any of the pan fish you got into? Anyone have any recommendations for what I might try out there?

Ahem, could be outta luck if you get there at the wrong time on a weekend.
Had a dysexlic moment...
I saw lots of what appeared to be panfish activity near the top in the main lake area when I went there. No idea as to size, but there appear to be enough predators in there and large enough deep holes (i.e., decent water volume) that the panfish should have decent size. Try the areas with stumps...
Kent Lake and Stony Creek Lake have good sized crappies in 'em. And just read a report that said there are huge rock bass in Union lake.

I'll keep that in mind, and hit a gas station along the way.
Thanks for the information on the Parking.

Deep6in, we were just playin around out there, but I'm sure the fishin can be good if ya find the right spots. I usually just fish it for fun w' the pike and bass.
We did get a few keeper gills and pumkinseeds, but let em go.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I will have to get out and give it a 3rd try one of these days.
It's been 2 years since I last fished Wolverine but the fishing has always been good there. Plenty of bass with an occasional 4 LB or 5 LB LM & even a bonus walleye or 2.

I've been to Wolverine Lake a few times but seem to have scattered luck. What do you guys find works the best out there?

Had a one of my best bassing mornings on Wolverine last year in June. 9 largemouth, one 2.5lber, and a couple avg size pike. Fishing was real slow from about 6-9AM, but then it picked up until about 1pm. Most fish came from shallow spots in the shadows around the docks.
BUT, went back there a few times since and had a lot of skunks with onesie's & twosies. There are some BIG pike in there that hangout out on the steep dropoffs, I've been bitten off a few times. It's an easy lake to fish due to its size, but the depths are kinda difficult to work in with all the weeds. Tough bite for me ever since that great day, but I'll be back this year when I get sick of walleye fishin.
And yes, you wanna be out there early when there is smoke on the water. Launch between 6AM & 8AM and you should have a spot. It's no wake rule until 11AM.

You can find plenty of pike but bass can be tricky until you get a pattern going. I wouldnt bother trying to hard for walleye or panfish
i would try union for that.
