I troll DOWN steam, just fast enough to make the spinner blade turn. I will use my front bow mount trolling motor or my 8hp kicker whichever is better depending on the wind.

Good luck, it will get addictive.

I usually troll downstream with my bb .The majic speed has been 2.2 to 2.6 for me :) hammered silver green beads or gold hammered red beads....

Pull bouncers downstream trying to keep a 2.0 - 2.5mph speed. The concept is to get your harness moving a little faster than the natural current, this usually is accomplished with an electric trolling motor. There also have been many of fish hooked just doing a natural drift.

Downstream. You really can't use gps speed because the current speed changes depending on where you are in the river. If you go just fast enough to turn the blades on your harnesses you will be fine.

Are the Goby's grabbing the crawlers yet? I know the past few years it can get maddening out on the SCR with Goby's eating the crawlers.

Gulp Alive Crawlers do the trick when the Gobies or other little fellas start nipping your tails off.

Fished for 4 hours today and only caught 2 gobies on my harnesses. That's two too many!!!!!!!!!!!

We caught two nice 2 lb'ers, but that was it. Started the day jigging, then realized everyone else was drifting. Picked up the two just south of the Marine City launch right around 8 a.m. One was caught on silver hammered blade with red beads, the other on hammered gold, and both in about 30 fow. Talked to a few people at the launch and two fish was about the day's average

Usually with a south wind you need to utilize a trolling motor to increase your speed with the current. The wind will hold you up and not only allow the goby bite, but also put your harness ahead of the weight and eventually the boat causing you to get hung. A north wind usually does not require the trolling motor. East and West winds we use our drift sock.
