My Dad and I fished Marine City from 11pm to 4:30am whippin only managed 7 walleye. Fished 3 spots that we've slammed fish for over 20 years.....any one else believe the main run went thru already and all thats left is local stragglers....I handlined all the good spots from 5am till 9:30am the previous morning and only caught a 13" perch:( not another bump but I did get a picture of a deer swimming across the river from Canada to the American side:tdo12:....pretty cool

Pulled harnesses for a couple hours last evening and couldn't get the striped cat out of the box. Had a couple of hits but nobody home. Will try again this weekend.

The autopilot on my Minnkota bow mount is NOT working so it was a full time job to keep the boat going somewhat straight. My sons were running the rods and were a little slow on the uptake! ;)

Thanks for the replies.....just wondered what the general concensus was;)
Good luck out there :fish:
Picture was taken just north of the Marine City Edison plant, just north of the powerlines with Canadian shoreline in the back ground approximately 5:45am Wednesday morning.

Hey Mudpuppy,
The fishing is spectacular right now. It takes a little traveling to find the active fish. We've been fortunate to have great success this week. Tuesday 4 man limit. Today 14 fish 3 guys and some lost at boat. If your not catching fish immediately try a different color or location until you find them. I think its going to get even better when the water warms a little more.

Man that looks a lot like a person in a deer costume. Where's the Border Patrol when you need them? ;)
Cool pic! :)

haahaa.....thanks.....its actually from my phone camera, even though the fishing(catching) wasn't good that morning i'd never have seen that deer from my bedroom or the couch. I love the outdoors especially when odd things in nature happen right under your nose like that. Good luck to all out there and have a camera ready at all times ehh:chillin:

Seems to be really hit and miss in Marine City right now as far as night fishing is concerned. Last night my buddy got a 2 man limit from 2 different spots handlining but tonight same spots produced zipp....I did notice the deer were feeding in the fields and the cows were feeding as well around 2:45pm. We are in the "new moon" phase right now which may or may not be an afternoon feeding time for the wallters....tomorrow I'll most likely fish the 1pm till 5pm shift and post afterwards. Good luck anglers !! :fish:

had a hunch about the afternoon 2:30pm till 5:30pm so tried dragging harnesses and it paid off for 5 lunkers. Lost 4 more at the boat. Had the sixth one half way up 3 different times before the fish completely shut off. Green/pearl with chrome blade and anadized green blade out deep was the ticket. Is there another school moving through or are they just tight to the bottom eating the only food left in the river (gobies)? I dunno but I'm eatin walleye....
GOOD LUCK FELLOW ANGLERS AND ANGLER-ETTES......(jillian)
