For those who don't get the MUCC Insider newsletters, there's a new DNR survey out. It will take about 10 minutes of your time, but provides the opportunity to voice your opinion.

With waterparks/theme parks on the DNR's to-do list, and questions in the survey about golf, rollerblading, and bicycling, I think hunters and fishermen need to make a good showing. Here's the link:

I think this survey reflects a growing understanding in our state that the Department of Natural Resources also has to have a broader mission as the department of outdoor recreation. Just like the Department of Environmental Quality needs to expand beyond being a regulatory agency and focus on being proactive in developing green jobs in the state and helping existing job providers meet environmental requirements.
