On the water at 6:00, wanted to try for eyes based on a few reports, nothing going on, plenty of boats, no nets. Did mark some, but not a ton around 10-11 feet. tried shallow, deep, many areas, trolled, dritfted, jigged. Tried what I knew. Switched to smallies and pan fish, had a blast, caught 20+ smaiiles on everything I threw. No real big ones, but tons of fun. Decided I needed dinner, went in tight, 7-8 feet of water right in front of Genos, caught a quick 20 gills, all nice size.

Seems like less and less eyes are around in spring, this used to be my go to spot when the lialocks (sp) bloomed.

Took my boat out to make sure the new starter was workin good. Guys coming in reported 2-5 walleye out of the 4 boats I talked to. Must have been a midday bite.

Good efort i have noticed,its much harder after winds howl and cold front wips in.keep at it you will get em,nice weather coming in that will get them goin.:fish::fish::fish:

I went out around 6:00, should have stayed home. 20 mph East winds were a little too much for fun. I did get to try out a new reel, casted for a mile "with" the wind... :)

Oh yea, while I was out there I also saw this:

By the time I was leaving the area the Coast Guard and salvage boat showed up. Anyone know "the rest of the story"?

Holy moley, indeed!

I had a brief go on the main lake and the wind blew me back into the canals. boat handled it well enough, but it was unpleasant, to say the least.

It was even windy in the canals. Caught a bunch of largemouths, though. :fish:
