I haven't fished much for inland lake walleyes...looking for some "schooling" on how to get the job done. I've only gone after them a couple times -- Irish Hills primarily and most recently Whitmore. I've tried both casting and trolling crawler harnesses and crankbaits -- NOTHING! Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Plain rig style, I use this method alot on inland lakes when bite is slow. I use a 6lb line and tie on a double hook system with snell knots using size 8 or 10.(kinda like a harness without beads and spinner-Hint plain rig) With a split shot a foot above hooks just big enough to tick bottom lightly while slow trolling Or drifting.
But key is to locate and pattern the fish and this will take time as you fish lakes repetitively to experience and learn. In one of my local lakes I catch walleye in as little as 5 fow alot but the depths 12 to 15 are batter on most days. But this is a shallow reservoir I wouldn't be able to tell you where to fish your lake. But if you have large flat areas most likely like perch walleye love flats, that would be a good spot to start.

whitmore lake south of the big point on the north shore. black and gold jointed rapala. your have to sift through the bass to find walleyes but i have caught a few. i was told the east shore straight out from the boat launch where the drop off is but i havent really caught or marked fish there.
