I purchased a Hotmaps 2008 for my 595c, the website says it is compatable but i can't see any difference in the maps from stock maps. The owner manual says it is a MMC slot, is that the same? Is there something you need to do other then insert it, my map detail is set to ALL, any help would be appreciated. Ken

KenFish...
Couple of questions:
1) What do you mean by stock maps? Do you mean the base map that came with the unit?
2) Do you have all the options toggled on?
3) What lakes(s) are you looking at?
Get back to me on those and we'll go from there.

I hoped you would respond Larry, thanks.
1. yes the base maps look the same as the pre-loaded maps.
2. As far as i can tell the finder is set to ALL detail levels.
3.I was on Indian lake in Livingston County and Lobdell in Livingston.
My main concern is if the sd card is even compatable or not, hard to tell if it has the same looking maps, thanks for any help.

Kenifish,
That chart is definitely compatible. The lakes you are looking at are not necessarily HD lakes so the data will be pretty much the same. Here is where you can look at all the list of all HD and regular def lakes on the 2008 chart on our web site: http://www.navionics.com/HMPremium08LakeList.asp?RegionID=3
The info on the NVB models (Navionics Bundle) is 2006 HotMaps data. The 2008 chart you bought has a lot more HD lakes but the one you are looking at right now will be the same. That said, heres a way to check out the HD vs the Standard def:
Go to Muskgeon Lake. This is a HD lake added since 2006. You will see 1' increments all around the lake if the chart is working.
Also, another way to make sure the chart is being read is when you put the chart in, you will see black lines outlining the area the chart covers from MI all the way to TN and east to SC and Maine.
