Ya know, if I had a gun with a cracked stock that belonged to my grandfather or father, etc, I'd try to replace it with something special. Unless you really wanted to put the gun to use, how about looking for a stock blank to work on over the winter? I own a couple of my father's long guns and there's things I'd do to them to improve them, but I want them to be just like they were when he used them. If something broke on them and I couldn't replace it I'd try to repair it and add some of my spirit to it.

Just a thought.

N.O., here's a page from guns.org that lists a bunch of stock suppliers and such.

Guns.org stock maker list (http://gunsorg.com/Stocks/Replacement/)

There's also going to be a gun show at the Silverdome the weekend after Christmas, you may be able to find something there as well.

northern_outdoorsman- Stop by Jerry's Gun Shop in Rochester, I'm sure he can help you or suggest someone who can. They don't get much better than him. He's located on Walton just west of Rochester Rd.
