I don't know if I should ruin the surprise by doing this but:

Well, I checked a couple of other boards and didn't see much so far. I did find at least a few references at:
SportingClays.net (http://www.sportingclays.net/forums/index.cfm)
and do a search through their forums, it seems like they have fans and some who put the Gazelle at least serviceable (much like a Remington 710).
Gazelle's website is here: GazelleArms.com (http://www.gazellearms.com/)
Let me say that I'm a huge fan of double barrel shotguns. I've looked at one of these at a gun show and it really seemed like a pretty good value. I'm not one to wear out a gun, so why would I pay a grand more for something else? The list of options is nice; single or double triggers and 5 choke tubes, some stamped engraving on the receiver with different options, several grades of guns, not bad at all. One of these days, I'll pony up the $$ for one, and these seem like very good entry level SG's.
On a personal note, BID, if you've got a wife buying you a SG for Christmas, love her and thank the Lord above for such a wonderful woman. Accept the gift and use the heck out of it and show her that you appreciate it. I received a Marlin lever gun for my birthday 15 years ago and it's still one of my prized guns and always will be. Merry Christmas and Happy Hunting Holidays. :)

Brown,
Who cares. You're getting a new gun from your wife and you need to set presidence here. This shot gun needs to become your favorite scatter gun, imediately!! Now you have the opportunity to lament on how the ol' deer rifle just don't shoot so well any more and how a NEW short magnum and scope would be so nice.
When my wife gets pleasure from buying me guns, I don't even wonder about it. (by the way, I keep her abreast of the best brands and models to make her job easier) :D

Stevebrandle, do you leave the catalog open to the exact page with your choice circled or highlighted too? ;)

Ha!
Nope, I take her to Gander Mountain and let her see the real thing. My Citori is in the bag when we get a little better off financially. :D

Wow, what a blast from the past. ;)
Back then I was drooling over a Citori. Ended up getting a Beretta, go figure.
Congrats on the new gun, John. May it serve you well.
