Aging wood ?

I just cut up an apple tree that was damaged in a storm. How long do I need to wait till I use that wood in the smoker. Thanks Paul

smaller the pieces, the quicker it dries. I wait at least 6-8 months for my wood, but I use firewood size pieces.Apple dries pretty fast, especially if it is stacked correctly and gets lots of wind and sun.

I'm using a decent sizes propane smoker should I cut the logs and limbs into disc shapes and do I need to remove the bark.
