Hey Guys,

Need some help on finding a battery. I Currently have a Deka starting battery it is a 24M7 with 1000MCA and 875CCA. I can tell it is not holdin the charge like it use to, and when load tested it is at the minimum but still ok.

Me being the one to fix something before it breaks, wants to replace this battery before it decides to crap out on me. The battery came with the boat when i got it 3 yrs ago.

Anyone know where i can find a similar quality battery for an inexpensive price? I live in Warren, north of Detroit.

I am pleased with the deka but they are pricey, i was curious if there was anything else out there. The 1000MCA is the recommended battery for my Verado. I may end just buying another deka, but thought i'd see if there are any other batteries out there that you guys had luck with.

Thanks,

Jeremy:D

Good thinking fixing it before it breaks, the last thing you want to do is tax the electrical system of that motor by running a week battery, remember if you pick up a ghost in that machine it has more fault codes than an F-16. I think you should not try to save a buck in this particular case, a good quality battery with that kind of crank is going to run a few bucks, I think with a fancy motor like that you should go with a fancy battery.

Tonga,

Thanks for snapping me back into reality. I should be ashamed of myself. I am usually the last one to cut corners when it comes to my toys. I have the philosphy of buying quality so it lasts me, but i guess with the economic times we are in i am trying to save were i can.

For the record, after i posted i googled the closest Deka dealer to me so i can call them on Monday. Oh well, can't blame a guy for tryin!!

Thanks,:D
