I have a bid in on a boat and I need it surveyed. The problem is I am in Marysville and the boat is in Calumet and there is a lack of surveyors in the UP. Does anybody know some one in that area of the state that does these. I found 1 in Port Wing WI. Called Great lakes marine survey. Any help will be greatly appreciated.:fish:

There is one in AuGres MI also. Call one of them. They may know of someone closer to the boat.:)

You could ask your insurance company who they recommend or contact SAMS,Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors.Keep in mind, you don't need certs to survey according to law.All SAMS does is take your money give you a open book test, give you certs and put your name in a book.I think everyone passes.Surveyors don't survey mechanicals either,so bring a mechanic.

Becoming a member fo SAMS is not that easy. And yes, technically you don't need to have a Cert to do a survey, but most banks\insurance require them to be either SAMS or NAMS.
