Is there a way to fix a leaking rivet ? The boat has a floor in it so I can't get at it from the top side.
Thanks

Did you try Waterweld ? Made by J B Weld maybe. I've used that stuff for quite a while. It's fast, cheap and a stick of that stuff goes a long ways and doesn't seem to dry out and go bad. I have patched holes up to size of a pencil and no leaks so far. I just have clunker rowboats so I am not going to invest in a good welder guy. I'm happy with dry feet and low cost. You can't remove your floor ?

You could drill out the rivet and replace it with a stainless sheet metal screw coated with 3m 5200 adhesive sealant. Not the best but will work most of the time.

My friend had a leak in his boat and bought one of those round hatches. Cut a hole in the floor, fixed the leak, and installed the hatch. It looks like it belongs there and worked well.

http://www.rivetsinstock.com/rivet61.htm you could use these. You would have to drill the rivet out and put this in. The only prob is that its a temp fix only. Give me a call if you have any questions. 248-478-2150 x 22. Bryan
