Maxum 74 Minn kota no power...Before I start tearing it apart, I hope someone chimes in on some possible causes
I was out jiggin today for about four hours, the wind really kicked up and I cranked it up to about 70 on the dial....I was working it and it just quit alltogether.....
I have power to the plug.
Anyone had a similar problem?...thanks in advance!

I have had assorted problems in the past with different motors and most of the time it was either where the foot controller plugs into the unit or where I spliced the wires to make a longer run to the batteries. Corrosion is usually the culprit so I now use liquid electrical tape on the wire extension and (forgot the technical name) some sort of spray that I use on my Lowrance network connections for the foot controller. I'll grab my manual if nobody chimes in before I can get to it tonight. You could (and should) have a breaker between the battery and the motor power cables. Hope this helps!

Thanks Barry-
Took the back of the foot control off...put power to here and there, hoping like hell I did not do any more damage I am not that electically inclined).
Could not figure it out...commenced to take the small bow consule out where it plugs in. I have a 24 volt...ok I see where both sets of battery cable go to the 4 posts on the back of the plug. Ahh test light shows power to one set not the other. Trace it back to the non working battery...there's the problem, there is a reset on the battery post...push it in and she works...DAAA. I was looking for fuses out on the water and since I keep the boat in the garage all winter and have a on-board charger I just forgot about that small circuit breaker.
thx again
