Fished with Homie, Gerry, Steve Meyers and his son yesterday mid river. The winds were up early on (3:00 - 4:30pm or so),and finally slowed down, but after a move we really hit the fish. My first time ever fishing the Detroit river, what a great first experience. I have been reading about the fishing out there on the 'Net for years, and finally made it out to learn how to jig the river.
Homie really knows the river and how to catch fish. He gave me a good lesson on jigging and I did what he showed me. Though I was last one to finally hook a fish, I eventually caught (3), and lost one at the boat. I was and still am stoked. The one I lost was peeling off line like crazy. Everyone in the boat was catching fish left and right and it was an absolute blast. Just a great time. I highly recommend Homie as a Detroit River jigging guide. For my first time ever out, it was fantastic. I can see why this place is world renowned.
