I'm heading down there tomorrow to give the fishing a shot this weekend, and I'm trying to find a place fairly close to the launch in St. Joe? Anyone got any idea's? I've not been able to find much online. I'll need a place that'll let me keep my 22ft islander there as well. Thanks

Ryan

3. Paw Paw River Campground N/O Watervliet 269-463-5454, this place has a pretty good cafe' . It's about 5-6 miles North of I-94 on M-140 and it's about 20minutes to the launch

Might I suggest not to stay,:confused:we made the mistake a few years back of staying in benton harbor at the House of David Trailer Park. We had been to St. Joe before, and it was a very nice town, so just across the river couldn't be too bad right? Long story short, someone empying a 14 round clip at 2:30 AM outside your boat makes you a little nervous. I was alright though, I had my sturdy 99cent cabin latch closed, and my Forschner, in case things got bad:tdo12:

Hahaha, yah, I think thats why they call it benton harlem. I don't know a lot about SW michigan, but I knew I should stay out of BH if possible. At least you had the forschner ready, those things will talk alot of people out of a fight!

The KOA is a nice place but seem pretty expensive for a camp ground. You can stay at the Red Roof for a few dollars more and it's all recently remodled. right off 94 at exit 29

Thanks guys, we opted for the Shamrock campground down in Berrien Springs. $40/night. With the prospects of rain on sunday, we didn't want to be pulling tents up in the rain. Its funny, when I bought my islander, I thought it'd be so nice to have a boat I could sleep on, and I still try and find campsites or hotels. LOL. Anxious to fish St. Joe, never fished that far south on Lk. Michigan.
