Day 1: Left guides house at 7:00am and headed out. Went out to some state land and located a group of 12 or so. A bunch of cows, calves and smaller bulls came out and a nice 6x6 and 5x5 came out, but walked right behind the others. Headed to a valley and saw a nice 300+class 6x6 and 2 small 5x5 and couldnt get a clear shot at the 6x6.
Day 2: Not a single Elk found.
Day 3: Got on tracks of 5 nice bulls. Walked and walked and walked. Got close to them a few times but in some thick ****. So we pushed them into a section at dark.
Day 4: Got back on the tracks and walked and walked and walked and caught right up to them. Produced and Hugh 4x5. 270 class. Dressed out at 615lbs. Here's some pics.

Guides were alittle costly, but I would highly recommend who I had to anyone.

A big contrats to you Slammer! So was it as easy or as hard as you figured the hunt would be? I figure mine was much harder, I didn't have a guide though. Sure was exciting, every phase of it.

Excellent job. What a dream hunt. 4 X 5 is no slouch.
Hope the two of you recovered from dragging that big fella out of there.:D

Skeeter, Man even with guides I thought it was tough. Ya alot will fill there tag on opening day, but a lot of whitetails are shot opening day to. Yeah I could of filled my tag on some bulls the first day but held off. Not a lot of points on my rack but it is wide and has a ton of mass. You really cant see the mass in the pics but in some parts of the main beam, I cant get my hand around. All in all a great hunt and my dad was there to experience it too.
