I asked the wife(she does boat upholstery and canvas), she said its tough because you shouldn't use bleach. But she said she would power wash it with a good cleaner and hope for the best. Ask the guy at the hardware or boat store about a "disinfectant bleachless detergent".

I use a Lysol liquid soap, the label says it's designed to kill mold. It seems to work good for me.

Twenty Mule Team Borax. It's cheap and helps to keep mold from returning. You can find it in the laundry dept @ Meijer's or Walmart.:)
