Well, since we were discussing this issue in some other threads, I thought this article may be relevant.

I don't think anyone can argue that the LA times is a right wing paper, hell bent on pushing the neocon agenda:lol:

So, here we are. In a State that is in an unbelievable financial turmoil - they spend nearly 1 billion dollars to incarcerate people that aren't even supposed to be in this Country.

There would have to be a whole lot of Illegal Aliens paying taxes to pay for just the incarceration of their brethren in the State of CA. Not to mention all the healthcare they receive.

And yes, I'm aware that BOTH sides are equally disgusting on this issue. But the current Pres and the current administration and Congress are getting ready to push this down our throats at a time when the Country is hurting and millions of law abiding, legal citizens are out of work - they want to bring and/or make it legal for milions more to come here in search of jobs.

Sure doesn't make much sense does it? Why aren't forien crimials deported when they break the law? Seems like we should send them back to their own country so they can continue to break the law and hurt their own citizens.

After watching "Locked up" on Natgeo, it apears that most of the mexican inmates are in a street gang before they get locked up and when they do go to prison its like a jump in there street cred... So many of them are actually trying to go to prison so they can look better in the eyes of their peers.

If we deport them at least it will be cheaper than locking them up, they may come back to the US but for a time it will get them off our streets. I know if they come back across the border after being deported there is probley a good chance they will commit another crime thus not making the deportion any good. How about an eye for an eye???

Damned if you do, damned if you dont.

Well, it is easier to regulate law abiding people than it is to get criminals to obey the law.
Unless you're looking for cabinet level positions to fill.

Fairly safe to say the system is broken because our elected officials have little concern over “real issues” that they were elected to address. We have only been living next to Mexico for over 200 years and yet we still have this issue with crime, illegal’s, and not paying taxes. Shame on every politician that “chooses” to ignore the monster. Now we are rolling over and will grant amnesty to all these criminals. Great kind of people we want here in the USA. Should we not set bare minimums to allow people in and then actually enforce the laws we already have? This amnesty thing will only encourage more scum to fill our jails. These are not the people we should invite to come to our country.
