Is their any good reports from Fletchers about the crappie yet? It's probably kind of early, but Im going to be heading up to Alpena next thursday and sunday. If not, when do you think they will be in the shallows?

Kmonkey: Capt. Heavy and myself should be trying it by the dam this coming Thursday (if the weather changes). PM one of us and maybe we'll fish it with you.

We need a warm rain :dizzy: (a what?) to really get 'em going. Snow is not warm last time I checked.

Stop at Northeast Bait & Tackle. It's on the corner of Werth Rd. & M-65. Really nice lady running it. She has minnows and other baits.

nah the dam area 2 weeks ago had a good amount of open water on the lake side and none on the river side.

I may just have to hobble over there on thursday myself.. If you see a gal hobbling around with a black guy with her, just yell wyldkat and chances are its prob me.

10:30-11:00am I have to drop my daughter off at the sitters at 9:30. There may be some last minute changes but as of right now, we are hitting the floods.

What time are you guys planning on getting there?

If I have my way, we would be there bout 2. If hubby had his way, we would be there bout 830. So prob end up round 10 1030ish for us also. But we are boatless and thus will only be at the dam. I drive a teal Chevy Astro.

If we strike out with the boat maybe we will see you at the dam. One way or the other I will report how we do. Good luck to you guys!

Well I found out a few things today.
1. the dam at paradise is wide open
2. my casting skills are rusty as all get out
3. it is super fun to watch hubby try and keep the empty fish bucket from blowing into the lake and then keeping himself from going in the lake. Although that was just barely that he stayed out.
4. I want a concussion bomb to get back at the fish that kept taking off with my minnows. :p

That's how felt when I went to Omer Sunday, it took a while to get the rust out! So did you do any good or just minnow thieves?

Just minnow thieves. But it still felt good to get out on the fish bank.

Paper and I hit the Floods yesterday with the boat and didnt have a bite! 4 or 5 othere boats came in the the same report. Fished in a couple of different spots by Jacks. The fish that were there when the ice was around were gone!! At least the weather man was totally wrong. Lite winds were predicted and we were facing at least 20mph out the the NW? White caps and cold temps also made for a tough day. Better than sitting in front of the tube. Good Luck to all!
