Lake Lancer in Gladwin county is not too far from there. It still has ice on the main lake. bays are mostly open. Thats a 750 acre lake for comparison.

Joeker Jr.1 I have a cousin that lives east of West Branch on the Rifle River and works all through the Rose City, Mio, and Hilman area. He is a die hard ice fisherman and his advice was to stay off the ice. I spoke to him 10 minutes ago.

i had no intentions of going out on ice, i was just hoping it was gone already so we could put a boat in.......wishful thinking............. looks like we'll have to wait another few weeks:(

The old man was up at lake lancer this weekend and apparently its wide open now. Thats surprising because it still had 17 inches of ice when I was up on 3/15. I think you are good to go.
