Turtle Island 3/1/09

Just got back from the best fishing trip I've been on in years. 3 of us left early and found the walleye within the first 5 minutes. I caught 1 that went a bit over 12# but released her and we kept only the jacks we caught. We were drifting FAST so anchored over a school. We caught atleast 100 before we ran out of Gulp nightcrawlers. Then we tried purple jigs tipped with bologna! Unbelievable on how they hit that lure.
BTW....got stopped at the launch in Toledo by the DNR and they took a report from us along with pictures. They wanted to know exactly where we were fishing and my buddy said..."In the water"!!!
He now has a ticket with the judge for "interupting a investigation".
Thats what he gets for opening his mouth.

That is great to hear. Where do you launch to get to turtle Island? Do you need an Ohio license? Just started fishing DR and Lake Erie so everything is new to me.

Thats awesome. The DNR can be such D***s sometimes and for no reason at all. I always tell people the same thing when they ask, "Where are the fish?" The look on thier face is priceless.
