I have a MotorGuide Laser 370ES 41lb thrust 12 volt system with a single Optima Blue Top D34M and I need to know how long it should last on a charge. I just bought the battery and I think it might be bad. I charged it overnight and it only lasted about 30 minutes at full speed.

Somthing is wrong. The battery should have a reserve minutes number. This is how long it should last. maybe not at full speed. but it should last at least a couple of hours at full speed. Is your charger OK?

That sounds like there is something wrong with the battery. Unless you did something wrong when charging it. I can get a regular battery on a 30lb thrust to go for 1-2 hours on full speed. Like fishnut said a lot of times the charger can be screwed up and tell
you it fully charged when its really not. I found that out in the middle of the lake once.

The RC is 120 minutes on it. I even went and purchased a new charger just to be sure it wasn't my onboard's fault. Let it charge overnight and as soon as I use the motor the voltage starts diving immediately.

I have a Minn Kota Endura 40lb thrust and I get about 2 hours on full speed, and thats with a cheap Wal-Mart deep cycle battery. Somehow you got a bad battery.

Take it back and get a new battery.

I had two of the same batteries hooked up for 24 volts and that ran my 65lb minkota 6 hours at about 1.3 mph steady trolling
the optima's are awesome for their size and recharge fast, but cannot hold a candle to a big wet cell of 180 -225 minutes capacity

Take it back to the retailer. Not even close to the time it should have lasted.
