All the better to zero in on the pattern while trolling solo... :fish::fish::fish:
And if you haven't got your license yet, don't forget....:tdo12:

Troll my boy...Troll....Loving the new rod count. Will be able to run 4 boards and 2 BB off the corners with two guys. Then this winter i will be able to dedicate two rods as dead sticks as well as jig one...One dead stick to target eyes and one to target whitefish....And when gill fishing, one jigging rod and two with traps for pike...I think its great...Also, no more gray areas for law enforcement on the big water where trout/walleye fisheries overlap during the spring....A very positive law has just took effect.

good luck with the St. Joe south pier. That place gets shoulder to shoulder anyways, now with the three I wont even try it. I do look forward to it trolling by myself or ice fishing especially.

 Good one, waterfoul!
Exactly, adam bomb! When trolling for 'eyes, pike, trout, and later bass and 'skis I'll be able to work different baits, depths, etc. much more efficiently to find the fish and what they will hit. Can run one lure down, one mid-column, one high, etc. By S-trolling I can get a make on speed.
Also, it will be cool to be able to run for different species, etc.
It will be a drag for crowded piers, though. And the carp fishing outings are likely to be pretty crowded, too...

The only time I'll use 3 is on the ice...1 tip-up a deadstick & a jigging rod.
Can't imagine how anyone's gonna put 3 to use w/out planers and such...& have fun fishing the peirs! lol! I wouldn't want 3 lines out when catfishing either...what a mess that would be w/a 20# flathead on.:yikes:

It will be a charm for trolling. 3 down easters clamped to the boat and grab the first one to go off! One hell of a season coming!

Indeed, Pikerpete!
Can't imagine how anyone's gonna put 3 to use w/out planers and such...
Easy: 2 longest rods out the sides, and the shortest straight back, adjacent lines at different lengths.
Don't plan on running 6 if there are 2 people in the boat, though.
It will be a bugger reeling up the others when a big one is on, but it'll just be the same drill as before, taking twice as long. Need to be mindful of the wind and take in the line that's more downwind first.
Having on a double or a triple is a dilemma I hope to experience. :D:fish:
