Was out there Friday afternoon/evening targetting walleye. Nothing bit when casting. When trolling we caught 9 small pike (18 inchers), but no walleye. Tried different speeds, and depths between 15 and 30 fow.
Might try for panfish this week, if the weather holds out.

You do know that walleye/pike/bass season is closed right now, right?

I don't believe he is shaking the tree. I was on Lake Fenton friday and I did see someone trolling around with spoons behind inline planers. Southern end of the lake.
Also there was the green truck parked on the ramp... Later half of the day.
I'm not saying it was him, I'm just saying I saw someone out there engaging in the same acts..

Hmmmm, I didnt think lake fenton was worth targeting eyes when the seasons open. Anybody ever get any decent catches out there?

Wow, I honestly did not know that. I just read the regulations, and there is definitely a 2 week period where you can't catch walleye. What's the point in that??
Glad I didn't catch anything to keep... just wow.

March 15th to April 25th is a little more than two weeks.

You can't fish for anything out of season....not even if you intend to release it. There is a catch and release bass season, but that doesn't start until the end of April. Consider yourself lucky you did not get caught and stick to pan fish this time of year! I see alot of guys dong that, and I'm sure its an honest mistake.....
Head to Erie or the Detroit river if you want walleye this time of year.
A. The season is open there
B. THere are LOTS of walleyes
