Has any heard that you need a toilet on your boat to go into Canadian waters this year? I doubt it, but my friend was on an electrician's picket line was told that it is true. :dizzy:

I did a little research and this is what I found....
Holding Tanks
Note that some provinces (like Ontario) have laws that require boats to have a holding tank and pumpout deck fitting connected to any toilet on board. I've never checked to see if this means that you can comply simply by removing your toilet altogether! There are no gray water laws - boat organizations banded together to "educate" the Ontario government when these were proposed a few years ago.
Visitors are encouraged to enquire at provincial departments of tourism or the Ministry of Natural Resources where they are planning to visit. You could also post a message in the Canadian boating discussion group called can.rec.boating. To access the group, you must be connected to a news server that carries it - ask your ISP to carry can.rec.boating! Read the Charter for more about accessing can.rec.boating.

Alcohol and Boating
Driving Under the Influence
Boating while impaired is an offence under the Criminal Code of Canada.
Operators with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood are liable to the following fines:
1st offence : at least $600 fine
2nd offence : at least 14 days of imprisonment
3rd offence : at least 90 days of imprisonment
The maximum sentence may vary depending on provincial statutes.
Consumption of Alcohol
In most provinces:
Alcohol may be consumed on board the pleasure craft only if it meets all of the following conditions:
The vessel has permanent sleeping facilities
The vessel has permanent cooking facilities
The vessel has a permanent toilet
The vessel is anchored or secured alongside a dock
Check with the appropriate provincial authorities (OPP for Ontario, SQ for Quebec, RCMP for all other provinces and territories) for carriage restrictions.
