Hey guys we had our first fish-in for 2009 yesterday on Lake Erie.
The event started pretty slow with only Alex and Tree catching fish after fish, then after 12 the fishing picked up and almost everyone caught fish.

Alex won the big fish pot with a 20 lb 6oz hog

Andy the small fish pot with a 5lb 5oz broken tail sad looking fish

Tree caught a seagull http://www.michigancarp.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif ...that was fun untangling that one.....

Brandon caught a fantastic hog and his new personal Best at a little over 20 lbs...looked at least 5 pounds bigger than what the scales read...

Some of us came to the conclusion that "Real fish Drink Whiskey" as both the 2 hogs and the smallest fish fell to good ol Whiskey flavor corn http://www.michigancarp.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

From memory I believe there was over 40 runs. Before I left Tree and I had tied with 9 each....

DruDaddy caught his first 2009 carp off a great smelling Boilie he made up at home..

The wind was horrible and half of the areas had really bad silt and debri in the water that affected a few guys and their lines.

Bad news was I had a spot of water on my camera lens and it shows in the pic's that I took. :|

It was cold. Wind was brutal, should have brought the down jacket! But surprisingly enough, there were some nice fish caught. Some real nice ones.

My first swim was unproductive, but not long after I moved I got a chunky 27 inch fish (not weighed), shown below, which got the scent of skunk off for the year:

Nice getting the first of the year! My goal if for a 25+ fish this year and a 10+ mirror!
