I am asking a favor of everyone. Can you please pick up at least one piece of litter everytime you fish from shore..I am tired of seeing trash in our outdoors...I myself take bags and fill them everytime...If we all do a little then it will add up to a lot..

I try to fill my pockets with trash every time I leave the river. I used to fish below Tippy and it was sad to see what my fellow sportsmen did to those banks. I spend more time on the PM these days, but there is still a lot of stuff left behind. I don't blame the landowners for putting up the "no trespassing" signs given the behavior of some of us.

I live about a 1/4 mile from the White River, downstream from Hesperia (broken out). It doesn't matter what time of year, every time I go down there I pick up cans, candy wrappers, worm containers, empty cig packs, LINE, and assorted plastic garbage. The sad thing is, a post like this isn't going to keep anyone from littering. In this world, there are people that litter and people that don't. There are people that fish and people that snag. I guess we just need to lead by example, pick up the crap, and continue being the "good guys".

Thanks for the great post. We would be great role models for the young sportsmen and women to see us adults do this. I agree with Dip. Just keep leading by example.

Here's a funny story from years past. I was at a boat launch one day with my daughter who was 5 at the time. Some redneck pulls up and as he's backing down to launch a passenger throws a McDonalds bag out of his car window. Everyone just kida looks at the guy, not saying anything. My daughter pipes up with " Hey mister, you dropped your garbage in the wrong spot. The garbage can is over there." The guy's face turns beet red and he picked up the bag and put in the can. People started laughing and clapping and gave her high fives. She could not figure why.
