I found a pair of eye glasses at the ramp by the paper mill this morning. PM me if they're yours or you know who owns them. There was a bunch of perch fishermen and I seen some rods working as we went by. We trolled the shoreline caught 1 brown around 5lbs and lost two. Seen 2-3 netted off the pier arms.

What's the temps like out on the water? Is it still ice fishing attire aka long johns and winter bibs/jacket? Any recent perch reports?

Dress like ice fishing and you'll be ok. You can always take a layer off.
I'll be out in the am for perch.

Wife & I went out. There must have been a couple hundred boats. The fishing was very slow in the morning. Even with all those people only a few were being caught. We stuck it out & got 25,7"to9" for supper. I got 1 11.5". They started biting a little better in the afternoon. Either that or we got on a better spot. My fishing dog caught a live bluegill up by the docks when we were leaving.

Hey Lee ,
Glad you got out - my equilibrium seems to be getting better as time goes by - I hope to be getting the boat ready very soon myself.
We had the memorial this weekend and 21 U.S. servicemen performed the Honor Guard duties (for John) and the Urn is sitting here with Dawn & I...
Hopefully life will be back to a more normal routine soon.
:)
PM me the depth , would ya?? - I'd like to get out soon......

We tried Sat am in the pack off the sand docks and my buddies anchor wouldn't hold in the wind. We ended up fishing near the channel mouth and picked up about a dozen before we called it quits early. Another buddy stuck it out and got 25, ended up being pretty cold and breezy out there.

You weren't the only one who's anchor wouldn't hold in that wind on Saturday
I saw a bunch of boats drifting by. I didn't have an issue, we kept about
25 keepers but boy was it breezy...

We got the anchor to stick and only got about a half dozen keepers between the two of us. We tried all over the place too. Way too cold and windy to really enjoy it. Colder than ice fishing that's for sure - considering we have a shanty and a heater.

That wind was brutal. If I'd known the weather guys were going to be wrong again I would have gone yesterday. Much better day.

I got probably 20 - 30 fish and not one hit 7". I used both anchors on one rope and that held me..but was no fun pulling.

It was great to be back out & THANK YOU for the trip Lee....

I hope you & Kay enjoy the fish dinner(s) and I'd like to do it again soon....
:)
It was good to have you take me out -N- about again!! I did get the drunken sailor legs a bit last night AFTER we hit dry dock , but I hope that gets better with time.
Spikes , Mousies (YES I had some left from ice time & we keep the fridge darn close to 33 degrees) and Minnows worked OK.

Perch seem to be heading out to the big lake. Fishing has been getting a bit slower every time out. There seem to be more small fish of late to. There are still some out there it just takes alot more time and you have to be on the right spot.

Rough crowd....
Still fish all over the west end - but they didn't wanna play too much.
We had THREE after SEVERAL hours at it - bit somewhere around 7-8:30 there was a small flurry of activity & we took around 25 home.
They probably went crazy :dizzy: out there today...LOL!

i was in the area and decided to check it out, i never been by Muskegon lake. I went by the the channel that goes into the lake and seen about 12 boats out there not sure were the sand dock are at from there. I went by a couple boat launches and seen they charge 10.00 , is there any other place to launch that isn't so much.
Any one been there or know how they been bitting, I'm thinking about giving it a try but don't feel like driving all that way for nothing
thanks
