These pictures are a week old but I have been meaning to learn how to do this. Picture below is my father with 15.5 inch crappie. The other two are samples of the rest of the weekends work.

Did the perch have the yellow grubs in them? We used to love going there back in the 60's and early 70's fishing with homemade spinners and catching a mess of whatever hit, but especially the big perch. Then they started showing up with grubs and it got so bad in most of the fish that we didn't want to keep them. That's some pile of fish though.

For the flood, those are some really nice perch! A few of those must be a good pound a piece. Nice work!

We have cleaned a number fish from Fletcher this winter and haven't had much of an issue with them. A handful of the smaller perch had a couple and that was about it. Not to much extra work to poke 'em out with a knife.

Regarding the crappie mount, my dad got hooked up with a lady who is experimenting/learning the trade. For $50 she will mount it and if you are happy with the work you can "tip" her extra afterwards. I will be curious to see how it turns out.

Make sure to put him in for a Master Angler award with the DNR. Black Crappie minimum is 14" for catch and release or 1lb 12ounce for catch and keep!

Glad you finally let Dad catch some fish, I get tired of hearing how you abuse him on the ice. You should have heard him whine how we used him sucker fishing. Good job on the pictures, sounds like a trip to remember.
