Fished East Bay Saturday morning from 9 - noon. Started shallow, 7 -15 fow and didn't mark a thing. Moved out to 25 fow and started marked perch off the bottom. Had several hits, but only put one 11" on the ice (half a minnow on a purple swedish pimple). If I would have had my quad, I would have gone a bit deeper - tough walking w/o cleats dragging all the gear. Shore ice was fine - 17" of good clear ice on the bay.

I drove down to the north end the other day and the ice was black. I'm done. Waiting for the docks to go in :D

looked ok at the launch - shore ice was going out a few feet directly in front. I didn't fish out front, so I didn't go out on it.

Hopefully it keeps going out, I know theres quite a pile of rocks in front of our place right now that the ice gave us. Had to use a tractor to get rid of some of the piles last year. I'm ready for summer. Got the big boat out yesterday and dropped it off to have a new trailering cover made. Gotta replace the fuel pump Saturday and she'll be ready roll. How's my trophy coming along!

I took it to a place in Waterford. Price seemed good and the person who recommended this company was credible. I don't fish for perch much on the lake but if I do its usually in Sept or Oct. If your interested in a cover PM me an I can PM the contact info to you. Our trailering cover was $425 for 22' Islander.

There's a guy locally that makes them. He's on the corner (NE) of Nicholson Hill Rd. and Hubbard Lake Rd., north of town. He's on the north side of Nicholson Hill, first house before Timm's Farms.

Hey Capt. Northwood....... I can't remember if you had a hard top or not, but if you didn't, did you go over the windshield? Keeps tons of bugs out if you go over the windshield.

Nope ours wasn't a hard top but we did go over the windshield with the cover, I know exactly what your talking about as far as keeping bugs out. I got a good story about bugs in the boat but it would take too long to tell......if I think about it next time we meet up I'll tell ya about it. Ryan had pictures of Getaways boat which is the exact same as our and he had the cover over the windshield. It should work alot better with keeping the bugs out and for keeping the glove box dry....with the other cover when you were driving down the road if it was raining or wet pavement the water would slip between the glass and the cover and slowly get everything in the glove box wet. This new cover should be good. The price was very reasonable considering the way the back of our boat is setup, lots of things to work around. Because of our aluminum rail for mounting the riggers and rod holders it made it impossible to buy a regular cover to fit it.
