Hey all,

We do some camping up North of Newaygo, and I was wondering if there are any small trout streams or creeks in the area. Basically, I am tired of sitting around the campground with the wife on vacation and would like to get back in and do a little fishing. Thanks in advance for the info.

There are plenty of streams around the area that have trout in them- if you explore tribs of one of the bigger, well known rivers and they are cold enough you will find browns, rainbows, and maybe brookies in the upper sections. Have fun

That is sound advice. Get a good set of county maps and explore.

MS' stream reporting policy prevents smaller streams from being named in the open forums. See the "sticky" at the top of each river forum thread list for the details. Information may be passed back and forth via PMs.

Get a good map and explore your area, I've found its a good way to kill time at camp. Like others have said scouting is half the fun.

I found this part to be very amusing! I feel your pain.

At least you're able to get your wife out camping...its like pulling teeth with mine if its not something rated with 4 stars.

Good luck exploring. Don't forget your bug spray!

Check out the DNR stocking records on streams in your area.:fish2::)

almost every stream in Newaygo holds trout. A lot of them are locked by private land, but if you can get on them, you'l have a ball..
