never fished for eyes with hand lines on st clair river and looking for advice/supplies.when is the best water temp/days-clear/cloudy,nights etc...:help:

it's all preference, but i do like the plastic coated wire. some say it causes more drag in the water, but i will take that any day over it digging into my skin or wire splinters.

I picked up a couple reels on craigslist cheap. They are the old riverrat models but I love em. No worries about splitting cases for tangles because the spools are open. Guy also threw in a couple shanks and two swim noodles full of leaders.
