Burt lake, any ice left?

Anyone know if there is safe ice on Burt lake? Have they been getting any perch? Thanks for any info, might be able to make it up this weekend.

I was up there on Monday with my quad and traveled 25 miles total in search of those elusive perch. There were not many people out and I saw 2 trucks on the entire lake. Stopped and talked to a couple of guys and they said they were not catching much either. I am going to give it one last try this weekend before I hang up the auger.

Best bet for perch on Burt is to wait for last ice...right now they are probably hangin out in the depths...

Fished yesterday and today. Still 17 to 18 inches of ice. Still seeing an occasional truck or SUV on the ice. I am not that brave.
Not much luck on the perch. The guys that are having some luck are the ones that have established way points from previous years, and are going back to those.
It really suck when you catch more walleye than perch, after the walleye season is over.
Good luck and be safe. I will be out there until the ice will not hold the snowmobile and portable. Look for an Otter ice camo on the north arm. I will be there.

Spent ALL DAY yesterday and 25+ miles on my quad (in search of fish) and came home with 3 perch. Biggest was 10".

Went back up today with the theory that the perch need to eat sometime and left at 12:00 with 2 perch. I was the only one out there as far as I could see.

Talked to a couple of guys who fish there almost everyday and they said it has been bad for weeks now.

If anybody has the secret to fishing that lake this time of year I would be happy to be let in on the secret.

I talked with some guys who know where and thay are doing very well. I don't know where this spot is, but they fish the lake frequently. So it is a well kept secrect. Burt is a tough one to fish, for some reason.

If they truely are getting the fish then their secret is in jeopardy as there was 10 people on the ENTIRE lake on Friday and 2 people as far as i could see on Saturday.

If I see any one out there I will assume its the "secret spot" :lol:
